Key Dates for Online Flex Courses

You have six months from the date of registration to complete an asynchronous self-paced course. Check the “Your Classes'' card in Buff Portal to confirm the expiration date. You have 40 calendar days from the registration date to drop a course with a full refund. If you need to drop or make any changes to your schedule, you may do so using Buff Portal.

Additional details on drop policies and deadlines:

  • You will have 40 calendar days from registration to drop an EDUA course without any mark on a transcript and receive a full tuition refund.
    • If the 40 day mark falls outside of the term in which students enroll, students won’t be able to drop themselves and must email cerecords@colorado.edu for help.
    • You may withdraw from an EDUA course after submitting a final/summative assignment for the given course, as long as you meet the withdrawal deadline and a final grade has not yet been posted.
    • You may not withdraw from a course once a final grade has been posted.
  • After 40 calendar days of enrollment:
    • You may submit the Online Flex Withdrawal Form to formally withdraw from the class before the course expiration date.
    • If you do not withdraw before the course expiration date, you will receive a grade. Any unsubmitted coursework will default to a zero (0) when the course expires and will negatively impact final course grade.
  • No course extensions are allowed.
  • You must complete an EDUA course within 6 months of enrollment date. It is your responsibility to keep track of course expiration dates.

Summer Capstone Courses

The last course for each certificate is a real-time capstone course that brings together all the content and curriculum. This course runs as a three-week intensive after academic school years end in June/July. The classes run for four hours a day, Monday to Friday, for three weeks. Synchronous classes will be broken up with independent and group time, mixed with a range of class activities.
