The Master of Arts in Teacher Leadership program supports teachers in making a difference in their districts by providing them with opportunities for personal, professional and community-level leadership development.
The flexible structure of our program allows you to enroll in individual graduate certificates or stack them to create a tailored CU Boulder master's degree that fits your professional needs and goals. Our coursework threads reflective practices, content mastery and skill development throughout so that you can practice leadership skills as you engage with the curriculum. This program is offered entirely online and is organized around - asynchronous (access course material at any time) and synchronous formats (meeting virtually at the same time).

Program Offerings
The Teacher Leadership program is designed to provide you with the ultimate flexibility in how you gain the education you need.
- Are you a teacher looking to gain additional content area expertise?
- Are you interested in developing teaching tools related to designing for learning, student-centered practice or supporting bilingual learners?
- Are you are looking to refine your leadership skills related to classroom, grade level and school level practices?
If so, this program is for you! You can enroll in one or more stand-alone graduate certificates or stack any three certificates together to earn a master's degree in Teacher Leadership.
Master of Arts in Teacher Leadership
Complete three certificates of your choice from our program's seven graduate certificate options to earn a Master of Arts in Teacher Leadership from the CU Boulder School of Education, Colorado's top-ranked graduate school of education.
When enrolled in the master's program, you:
- take term-based, asynchronous courses over 16-week (fall & spring) or 10-week (summer) terms, and
- become eligible for federal financial aid.

When enrolled in a certificate program, you take self-paced, asynchronous courses (known as "Online Flex" courses) that you can begin anytime and complete within a six-month window.
