The Teacher Leadership program is designed to support the professional development of teachers no matter their professional goals. You may enroll in the program to:

Increase your earning potential: Many districts provide salary increases for teachers who have a master’s degree. Earning a graduate degree in Teacher Leadership could support income growth and future promotions.

Fulfill a state requirement: Our Cultural & Linguistic Diversity (CLD) certificate fulfills the 45 hours required for completion by the Colorado Department of Education for all licensed teachers and is listed as an approved CLD training opportunity.

Grow your professional skills: We recognize that student demographics are always evolving and our certificate programs help teachers develop the techniques and scaffolds to support all learners in their classrooms. Our program also aims to supplement other teacher training programs so you can go deeper into a content area such as Social Emotional Learning and Teacher Leadership.

Earning credentials through the Teacher Leadership program could help you gain a position as:

  • an instructional coach,
  • a Social & Emotional Learning (SEL) coordinator,
  • an academic counselor,
  • an Emergent Bilingual (ELL) coordinator
  • an Emergent Bilingual (ELL) teacher,
  • a mentor teacher,
  • a master teacher, or
  • a teacher leader at the school or district level.

If you have questions about how one of our certificates or the master’s program will help you with your professional goals, please contact us at teacherleadership@colorado.edu. We are happy to help you strategize which path will help you meet your individual needs.
