Clif Harald

Clif Harald is the founder and principal of First Flatiron Consulting specializing in economic vitality planning and management. Clif's expertise draws on a career in community economic development as well as in private industry. For more than a decade he was executive director of the Boulder Economic Council (BEC), a cross-industry leadership group of business and community executives dedicated to sustaining Boulder’s economic vitality. 

While leading the BEC, Clif engaged with key Boulder businesses and industries, including outdoor recreation. He was a member of the Outdoor Industry Association, participated in Outdoor Retailer Summer and Winter markets for many years, and collaborated with Colorado's Outdoor Recreation Industry Office.

Clif also held executive positions with other economic development organizations in Boulder County and with the Metro Denver Economic Development Corp. of the Denver Metro Chamber. 

In the private sector, Clif led a multimillion-dollar corporate social responsibility program for former Silicon Valley leader Sun Microsystems. He was an officer in the municipal bond department of a regional investment banking firm and held leadership roles with economic consulting firms. 

A native of Colorado, Clif holds a Master of Urban Planning degree from the University of Washington and earned his Bachelor's from CU Boulder.
