Betsy Smith

Betsy Smith is a policy scholar specializing in environmental and energy policy in Boulder, CO. In addition to teaching, Betsy is a Policy Specialist at the National Conference of State Legislatures and a PhD Candidate at CU Denver’s School of Public Affairs. Betsy has worked on public lands and climate issues with a variety of partners including the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Dept. of the Interior, and U.S. Dept. of Energy. Her current work focuses on policy narratives and public perception of climate issues, by way of the University of Michigan and Montana State University before landing here at CU. When she’s not working, Betsy loves camping, swimming, and drinking coffee outside in the fabulously sunny Colorado weather.
